Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Latent mobile application (the “App”), made by Mobile Alchemy LTD (“Mobile Alchemy”, “we”, “us”, “our”), collects, why we collect it, and how we use it. We designed Latent to keep your photos and videos on your device by default and to keep the data we touch to a minimum.
1. Information processed locally on your device
The App requests the following permissions; everything they touch stays on your device unless the section explicitly says otherwise.
- Camera — required for capture. Frames are rendered locally for the live preview and the photo / video pipeline. We do not transmit frames or previews off-device.
- Microphone — required only when recording video, so the resulting clip has sound.
- Photo Library — required to save captures into the system Photos app. We write only the assets you capture.
- Location (optional) — used only when you explicitly enable geotagging. When enabled, the App reads your coarse location at capture time and writes the GPS coordinates into the photo’s EXIF metadata. We do not transmit your location to our servers.
2. Information sent to third parties
We rely on two third-party services that are essential to running a paid app on the App Store: Apple StoreKit (for payments) and Adapty (for purchase orchestration and paywall delivery).
Apple App Store / StoreKit
When you make an in-app purchase, Apple processes the payment and issues a signed receipt to the App. We do not see your payment method, billing address, or Apple ID. Apple’s privacy practices are described in the Apple Privacy Policy.
Adapty
The App uses the Adapty SDK to fetch the paywall configuration and to validate purchase receipts. Adapty acts as a data processor on our behalf. When you launch the App or attempt a purchase, the following data is sent to Adapty:
- An anonymous Adapty-generated profile identifier.
- Your iOS Vendor Identifier (IDFV) — a per-vendor identifier Apple resets when you uninstall every app from the same vendor. We do not request the Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
- Device metadata: model, OS version, app version, locale, timezone.
- Purchase events: which product you tap, the resulting transaction id, and the App Store receipt.
Adapty does not receive your photos, videos, location, contacts, or any media you capture. Adapty’s privacy practices are described in the Adapty Privacy Policy.
3. Information we do NOT collect
- We do not run ads or use ad-targeting SDKs.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with brokers.
- We do not use third-party analytics SDKs beyond Adapty’s purchase telemetry described above.
- We do not collect contacts, calendars, health data, browsing history, or biometric data.
- We do not request the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), so no App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown.
4. How long data is retained
- Data stored on your device (photos, videos, settings) is retained until you delete the asset or uninstall the App.
- Purchase telemetry held by Adapty is retained per Adapty’s own retention policy and only for as long as needed to administer your entitlements.
5. Children
Latent is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@mobilealchemy.co. Because we do not collect identifying personal data on our own servers, most requests we receive resolve to a request against Adapty’s data store, which we will forward.
7. International transfers
Mobile Alchemy operates from its principal place of business; Apple and Adapty operate globally. By using the App you acknowledge that the limited data described above may be processed in jurisdictions other than yours, subject to the safeguards required by applicable law.
8. Security
We use industry-standard transport-level encryption (HTTPS / TLS) for every network call the App makes. Receipts and entitlement state are stored in Apple’s Keychain or the system-protected user defaults. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, but we apply controls appropriate to the limited amount of personal data we process.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top. For material changes we will surface a notice in the App at next launch.
